Additional Informaiton from Concord City News Spring 2009:

In December of last year, the City Council adopted a new Recreational Vehicle Storage Ordinance. Under the ordinance, RVs are no longer allowed to be stored or parked in the front area of residential property, but may be stored or parked in a side or back yard on a paved or gravel surface behind a six-foot opaque fence. A ‘grandfather’ clause in the new ordinance allows residents who currently park RVs in the front of their property to obtain a permit that will allow them to continue this practice until they no longer live at the residence. Permit applications are now available, and will be available until January 5,2010. After that date, residents who do not have a permit will not be able to lawfully store or park an RV in the front area of their property. The permit only applies to the RV and property listed on the permit and is not transferable. When the registered owner moves from the property, the permit is no longer valid and no new permits will be issued.

Applications are available for a one-time, non-refundable fee of $80. They may be obtained at the Permit Center, 1950 Parkside Dr., or by mail by calling 671-3075. Upon receipt of the application and fee, staff will review the application and conduct a site inspection to determine eligibility. If approved, an RV Storage Permit will be returned by mail.

For more information, contact Curt Michael, Neighborhood Services Supervisor at 671-3117.
